Born on August 29, Anita Silwal is the daughter of Bhumi Prasad Silwal and Rupa Silwal. She was raised in Kathmandu in the middle class family and has two sisters and a brother. She completed her schooling from Bhanubhakta Memorial Higher Secondary School and intermediate from Kathmandu Bernhardt College and has done Masters in Sociology from Tribhuwan University.

She started her acting career from the Tele Serial “Kathmandu ko Jindagi ra Rahar” as a daughter of legendary actor Tika Pahari and Subarna Chettri in the early age of 3 years and 7 months.  The Serial was directed by Narayan Puri. In 2051, at the age of four Anita got a chance to act on a full featured Nepali super hit movie “Sannani”, directed by Narayan Puri. She played the major Child artist role in the movie as niece of Sunil Thapa. The movie successfully ran for 51 days in the theater.  She then acted on the movies like “Ragat”, “Chandal”, “Aadikabi Bhanubhakta”. She was awarded for the acting in Movie Aadikabi Bhanubhakta for the boy’s role by Late Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala. Anita also involved in the TV serials and Advertisements of Social Awareness.

Anita labels Film Director Narayan Puri as her father for acting career. She gives credit to her parents and her sisters Babita Silwal are her inspiration who always pushed her to do things more. Anita Silwal was crowned as 1^st Runner Up in “Little Lady 1999” and Runner up in “Ms. Teen Nepal 2007”. She worked for News 24 Television as a Producer, Program Presenter, News Anchor and Talk show Host from 2010 April to 2014 February.

More recently, she is working for Habitat for Humanity International Nepal and Jimmy Rosalynn Carter Work Project 2015. She is a working committee member of central youth and Family Planning Association of Nepal. She is also the Central Member of Bhanu Pratisthan Nepal.
