Hiranya Bhojpure (Hiranya Prasad Shrestha, Mangsir 12, 1999 BS) was born in Deurali, Bhojpur to Chandi Prasad Shrestha and Laxmi Devi Shrestha. He completed high school in Kathmandu and moved to Sano Pokhara, Hetauda and formed a group Nawakala Kunj. Along with like minded friends, he composed and sang many songs there. He then returned to Kathmandu and formed a group "Lekali" along with his wife Urmila Shrestha, Ganesh Rasik, Nirmala Shrestha, Shashi Ram Bhandary, Neera Shrestha, Nhuche Dangol, Nabin Kishore Rai and Indra Narayan Manandhar. Hiranya Bhojpure started singing since his early childhood.
"Lekali" staged several shows in 70s which were huge hits. "Chahara ko Geet", "Upatyaka" and "Pijada" were sold outs. They also had shows in Darjeeling and Canada. Hiranya Bhojpure has composed and sung more than 100 songs including very popular songs like "Raato Bhaale..Kukuri kaa", "Taxi Gudaudai, Baairod ko baato ma dhulo udaudai", Kaale kaale milera khau bhaale, Lahara Pahara Chahara ko desh.
Hiranya Bhojpure is also a renowned author of several Nepali books. He has published 10 books which includes short novels, collection of songs, memoirs, short stories and essays etc.
